It is with great sadness that we announce the closing of Medical Autonomy Colorado. We have fought long and hard the last few years and really believed change was possible for our state. However, at this point with the blue stranglehold over our beloved Colorado (blue supermajority in the State House and just one vote away from blue supermajority in the State Senate), the ways in which we have fought and sought to influence and affect political change in Colorado no longer have impact. The Democrats have no desire and no motivation to “listen” to or be swayed by their constituents. At this point the Californication of our Colorado is heartbreakingly nearly complete and sadly this coming legislative session will no doubt bring further destruction of our constitutional and health freedoms.
We wish there was more encouraging news and it goads to admit defeat and yet right now we have reached a point where our investment is yielding negative returns and therefore it’s time to lay down the strategies which are no longer effective. The board of MAC and its election partners worked hard this election cycle to motivate people to fight for the Senate here in Colorado but sadly we were met, by and large, with nearly deafening silence from within our ranks. As a volunteer board, made up of working mothers, there is only so much the five of us (seven with partners) can do. We cannot singlehandedly hold the line in Colorado without being joined in this fight by others.
Albert Einstein once stated that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Thus, organizationally and individually, it is time for a radical readjustment in how and where we fight and resist in this state going forward. There is much for all of us to wrestle through in the days to come in terms of how we all invest our time, talent and treasure for the good of our families and our state.
Please know that each of us on the MAC board stands just as strongly in our personal convictions and some of us still have children in schools in Colorado. We remain available as individuals on medical and health freedom matters however as an organization as of 1 December 2022 we will cease to continue.
We wish you the best and it has truly been an honor to serve you.
Sincerely,
MAC Board – Beth Fisher, Margaret, Carmen, Jami, and Cortney
Election Partners – Andie and Holly
